Tegallalang Rice Terraces – A Peaceful Slice of Bali’s Heartland If you're visiting Ubud, Tegallalang Rice Terraces is an absolute must-see. These stunning, emerald-green rice paddies are carved into the hillside in dramatic steps, creating a breathtaking landscape that looks like it's straight out of a postcard. Located just 20 minutes north of Ubud, this UNESCO-recognized cultural landscape is more than just beautiful—it's a living example of Bali’s ancient Subak irrigation system, passed down for generations. Walking through the terraces is a peaceful experience. You’ll follow narrow paths through the fields, cross little bamboo bridges, and be surrounded by tropical nature, birdsong, and farmers tending to their crops. Many locals offer guided walks, and small donations are appreciated if you go deeper into private parts of the terraces.

It is an amazing site to have a good time. There are enteranc tickets and other tickets, including photos shot for swing and lovely spots if you want. The green landscape is wonderful. There are restaurants and coffee shops. This is a must seen place.

Amazing place to visit! The raw nature is there and you can be a part of it for a short period of time! Be aware that is a tourist area and the prices are very high. You should pop up to a cafe shop too in order to enjoy a drink in a quiet place. Follow me @roxana.iamandi.

Even if this is a tourist trap, it is beautiful. If you go to Bali, you should visit a rice terrace: eiter this one or the one at Alas Harum (there the entrance fee is more expensive cuz the place is bigger and has more bridges, statues and decorations for photos). We had a driver who explained to us about rice terrace. You can take here pictures in the swing, rent a dress with a train for those instagram photos, do a zip line ( normal or superman), they all have different prices, not incuded in the entrance fee. You can walk around in the rice field and see the rice. On the way, you can even see some locals renting traditional baskets in which they carry the rice (the ones similar to a libra) or traditional hats. The entrance fee was about 25k (less than 1.5€) per person, if i remember correctly.

Was nice and peaceful just come here early morning when it open to enjoy the vibes and do the trekking, so not too crowded because after 9am it will be full. I would say they must be more clearly put guidance for the trekking area somehow you'll find it confusing where to start and keep up with the trekking but Overall was good to see when you are in Ubud
